Advanced LED Design and Low Voltage Troubleshooting Seminar

A  2-part, one-day LED Landscape Lighting Seminar designed for installation professionals wishing to improve the aesthetic design of Landscape Lighting installations and gain the knowledge and confidence to trouble shoot faulty systems.

Prerequisite: Kichler Starter or Advanced Course or commensurate experience.

Part one – Lights and the design of lighting to accentuate landscape and architecture.
  • In-depth review of available low voltage lighting varieties
  • In-depth review of available low voltage lamps and wattage ranges
  • Perform a comparative analysis of Halogen and its LED Equivalent
  • How, when and why to use LED lighting design – discussion & demonstration
  • Understand beam spreads and photometrics - how to apply them to your design.
  • Create dramatic designs – learn how to blend path, spread, down & up lighting, shadowing, spotlights, silhouetting, grazing, cross lighting and accents into an aesthetically pleasing plot plan.

Part Two:
  • Sell the Maintenance Contract with the project, not after
  • Preventative maintenance program - What to include
  • Transformers - types, accessories, features and uses
  • How to test a transformer
  • Troubleshooting a faulty system - How to find and correct problems after installation.

Bonus Training:
A series of different lighting systems will be set up with intentional design flaws. On an individual basis, students will be trained to identify the problem and offer corrective solutions.
